Harmer Collection services was established in 1998 by the principle director Darren Harmer MCICM (grad), who having spent 12 years in commercial credit management departments in industries including Publishing, commercial public relations, technical sanitation, reprographics and the banking sector, eventually managing a credit management team of 12, recognised a potential need in the market for high quality (often short term) additional collections assistance.
Initially the organisation was set up to assist overburdened Credit Managers/Financial executives by undertaking projects to reduce particular and/or problem ledgers arising from a number of different situations including Growth, acquisition, seasonal fluctuations and unexpected staffing vicissitudes, eventually, following numerous enquiries from smaller companies, HCS expanded the service range utilising much of the experience and training already gained, offering debt recovery solutions to all companies.
We focus on providing a highly professional and individual service with the vast majority of all collections (over 96%) occurring without recourse to litigation. No expenses, legal or otherwise are ever incurred without our client’s prior agreement to both the cost and the strategy. HCS is a constantly developing agency where training and Continued Personal Development is not just encouraged but actively pursued.
We are fully compliant with the latest legislation and receive regular updates from both the Credit Services Association and the Chartered Institute of Credit Management.
